Trends come and go and only a few remain. What is the situation here with the short message service Twitter? Will the hype die down there or continue? Twitter will be as solid as e-mails and Co, or lose even more important as it is now no longer a novelty.
Robert Bartholomew, an American author and coauthor of the book "Outbreak! Ectraordinary The Encyclopedia of Social Behavior" said in an interview responded to the trend to use Twitter:
"Most fads are not social delusions but are short-term infatuations. Only time will tell Whether Twitter is a fad and will go the way of the CB radio after a year or two of intense interest or if it will become a more permanent fixture of our social landscape. Fads fade quickly but typically offer status when 'everyone's doing it' and hence loose its novelty. "
What is your opinion? Why do you use Twitter and do you plan the future in the form and extent of twittering as you do now? I look forward to your answers!
